“The Brewery District in Over- the- Rhine” TOUR

On the “Brewery District Tour” we visit an area of Cincinnati called “Over-the-Rhine.

This are was named by the large German population that settled there just north of the Miami & Erie Canal. When crossing the bridge over the canal it was often said “We are going over the Rhine “referring to the Rhine River in Germany. This area became a serious beer production area in the 1830’s and continued until prohibition in 1918. Most of our breweries failed to survive this ill fated social experiment and were razed, yet, many remain.

LANDMARKS IN AND AROUND THE DISTRICT

· WEST END HISTORIC MILLIONAIRES ROW

· FINDLAY MARKET

· CINCINNATI BALLET

· MARKETS ON MAIN

· MUSIC HALL

This tour is 3-4 hours long. Harvey’s T.L.C. Trolleys reserves the right to drop or substitute breweries when circumstances dictate (construction, time limits etc.). Minimum 30 people required.
